National Akali Dal supporters protest assault on Sikh teenager
New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) Supporters of the National Akali Dal today took to streets in protest against the assault on the faith of a Sikh teenager in the Rajasthan capital.
The protestors demanded that the guilty be arrested and punished.
National Akali Dal president S Paramjeet Singh Pamman said anti-social elements were trying to foment communal passion among people.
''The anti-social elements are trying to disturb communal harmony in the country and stir up trouble,'' he added.
He alleged that police had refused to file an FIR in the case.
Inderprit Singh, a class XII student of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jaipur, while on his way back from school on a motorbike on Monday, was stopped by a group of youth. They forced him into a car, beat him mercilessly and then forcibly cut his hair.
Then they dropped Inderprit near the school.
