Monitoring committee orders sealings, demolitions in E Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) The Monitoring committee set up by the Delhi High Court to prevent unauthorised constructions and encroachment on Government land today ordered the MCD to seal many commercial eastablishments that had come up in East Delhi while ordering removal of encroachments on government land and demolition of several unauthorised constructions.

The monitoring committee members ordered the commissioner (industries) in the MCD to send notices to owners of three to four industrial plots in Patparganj area to remove their encroachment on government land.

The MCD was also directed to seal three commercial structures that had come up in the New Rajdhani Enclave area.

The monitoring committee also ordered demolition of ongoing unauthorised constructions in Madhu vihar.

Monitoring committee member B L Vohra told UNI that work was going on to demolish 192 unauthorised shops in Lajpat Rai Market as also 900 unauthorised structures in Ashok Vihar.
