New Delh, Aug 23: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for half an hour till 1200 hours today with the NDA members supporting the proponents of separate statehood for Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh who resorted to uproar in the House.

As soon as the House assembled in the morning, four of the five Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MPs went into the well, raising slogans like ''implement Common Minimum Programme'', ''Respect people's mandate'', ''respect the President's speech'' and ''Jai Telangana''.

They got immediate support from the NDA members who also got up from their seats shouting ''TRS aage badho, hum tumhare saath hain ( TRS go ahead, we are with you)''. This resulted in a din in the House.

The repeated appeals of Speaker Somnath Chatterjee for peace failed to cut any ice as the Opposition continued with their slogan shouting.

As the TRS members continued to stay in the well of the House despite the Speaker's repeated pleas, he adjourned the House for half an hour.

Earlier, the Speaker attempted to take up the Question Hour but BJP MP Kharabela Swain raised 'point of order', saying that rule said the proceedings of the House could be started only when order prevailed.
