Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Aug 23 (UNI) Jasmine flowers fell out of the eyes of two girls in a strange phenomenon in Enamkiliyur village near Valangaman in Tiruvarur district.

Kiruthiga(9), daughter of a farm labourer Jaganathan and Roja (6), daughter of another farm labourer Subramaniyam had the people in the village baffled as the flowers kept dropping out of their eyes.

According to the parents of the girls, the jasmine flowers began falling out a few weeks ago and each time a flower fell out the girls complained of pain in their eyes.

They said the flowers seemed to be dry at times.

The two girls were taken to Government Hospital Thanjavur where the doctors who attended on them said that surgery should be performed to stop this occurrence.

People from other parts of the state were visiting the girls and offering prayers claiming that it was 'divine intervention'.
