Duggal to lead Indian delegation to Bangladesh

Written by: Staff

New Delhi, Aug 23: Home Secretary V K Duggal will lead a high-level Indian delegation to Bangladesh for secretary level talks on border and other issues to be held in Dhaka for four days from tomorrow.

Joint Secretary Harishankar Barua told mediapersons that the talks were intended to iron out differences on border issues and push forward understanding between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).

He said the two sides would go much deeper into socio-economic cooperation between them.

Mr Barua said India would impress upon Bangladesh to control drug trafficking and smuggling activities along the border, besides addressing joint concerns on terrorism.
