Cable operators resume operations after R R Patil's intervention

Written by: Staff

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) Cable operators, who resorted to a blackout of their transmission for two days after police action against some of them in central Mumbai, resumed their operations since last night.

The decision was taken following assurance from Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil that the cable operators will not be unneccessarily targeted or prosecuted, Mr Anil Parab of Cable operators distributors Association (CODA) said.

Except the nine channels banned by the High Court for showing 'adult content', the operators resumed transmission of all non-film channels since late last night.
