Ranchi, Aug 22 (UNI) Amid boycot by the Opposition, the BJP-led NDA today passed the Jharkhand Legislature (Prevention) Disqualification Bill, 2006 without any debate on it.

The Bill was was introduced in the last Assembly session and sent to Governor Syed Sibtey Razi for his consent.

The Governor returned the same, suggesting some modifications in the Bill, which was not entertained by the government.

The Opposition demanded a debate on the Bill, which was not allowed.

Miffed at it, the entire Opposition boycotted the proceedings as the Bill was passed.

Chief Minister Arjun Munda and many of his Ministerial colleagues were under scanner as the controversy arose.
