Saddam's Anfal trial resumes in Baghdad
BAGHDAD, Aug 22: The trial of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and six co-defendants resumed today.
All defendants were present. Saddam faces charges of genocide after the killing of tens of thousands of Kurdish villagers in a campaign, codenamed Anfal -- Spoils of War -- that devastated northern Iraq in 1988.He and his co-defendants are also charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.
