M A A Fatmi condoles death of Ustad Bismillah Khan
New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Minister of State for Human Resource Development M A A Fatmi today expressed deep grief over the sad demise of Ustad Bismillah Khan.
In his condolence message, Mr Fatmi said, ''It is a matter of deep sorrow that a legendary and bright star of Indian music, Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan has passed away. It is to put on record that Darbhanga (my cionstituency) was closely associated with his wisdom and music where Ustad Khan had spent eight years of his memorable life in its precinct environment.'' It is sad that Maestro could not fulfill his dream of performing at India Gate and his beloved Darbhanga because of his prolonged illness although the citizenary were overwhelmed to receive him, he said.
''It is very difficult to fill the void created by his demise. I join the people of Darbhanga in this hour of grief and stand with his family and also pray the Almighty to give peace to his departed soul'', the minister added.
