Lankan naval force fire at Indian fishermen

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Aug 22 (UNI) Srilankan Naval forces fired at the boats of Indian fishermen, causing heave damage.

According to reports received here, four fishermen from Perumalpettai in Vedaranyam ventured into the sea on Sunday, when the island naval force fired at their boats causing heavy damage.

They also took away the catches and nets.

The fishermen in their damaged boats, who reached the shore with great difficulty informed the police and authorities of the fisheries department about the incident, fishermen sources said.
