VSP bags HR Excellence Award

Visakhapatnam, Aug 21: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recognised the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP)'s strategies for human resources development by conferring it with the HR Excellence Award 2005.

According to a release, the award was received by steel plant Director (personnel) K A Naidu at a CII function organised in Chennai on August 19. Vizag Steel bagged the award despite stiff competition from a number of industries including multi-national corporations.

The award was presented by Saint Gobain Glass India Ltd, Managing Director, B Shantaram. He also heads the CII committee for HR, industrial relations and employees relations.

Later, a detailed power point presentation was made by Naidu and Training and HRD General Manager Y Manohar in HR strategies in VSP.

All the delegates presented at the best practices sharing session organised by CII appreciated the dedicated efforts of Vizag Steel in transforming VSP into a world class company, the release added.
