Ved Rahi, 3 journalists among 50 to be awarded by Governor

Jammu, Aug 21 (UNI) Noted Bollywood film director Ved Rahi and three journalists are among the 50 personalities to be felicitated with state awards by J&K Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha for outstanding contribution in their respective fields.

According to the official sources, the award ceremony will be held at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar on August 24.

The other recipients include academicians, bureaucrats, writers, sportspersons, doctors and social workers.

The award carries a cash prize between Rs 51,000 to Rs 1 lakh, a citation and a medal. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad along with his Council of Ministers will attend the award giving ceremony.

Three journalists Sanjeev Pargal, Ahmed Ali Fayyaz and Bashir Ahmed and Ved Rahi, now settled in Mumbai and affiliated with several Bollywood projects, are among 50 awardees.
