UP assembly condoles death of two sitting members

Lucknow, Aug 21(UNI) Uttar Pradesh assembly today condoled the death of two of its sitting members on the opening day of the brief Monsoon session of the state legislature.

The House observed a two-minute silience on the death of Samajwadi Party member Haji Mustaq Solanki and CPI(M) legislature party leader Ram Swaroop Singh. Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey adjourned the house for the day after the condolence motion.

Expressing his condolence, Chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav said both the leaders were very popular among the masses and were committed for the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden in their respective areas.

Leader of the Opposition Lalji Tandon (BJP), BSP legislature party leader Swami Prasad Maurya, Congress legislature party leader Pramod Tiwari, Loktrantrik Bahujan Dal(LBD) legislature party leader Rajendra Singh Rana and Rashtriya Lok Dal(RLD) leader Kokab Hamid along with others also expressed their condolence on the floor of the House.

Haji Mustaq Solanki(45), a two-time SP MLA from Kanpur died on June 2 following a prolonged illness while Ram Swaroop Singh(77), a CPI(M) MLA from Bijnour died of severe complications on August 15.
