Mumbai, Aug 21 (UNI) A social worker and film artist from Mumbai has moved an application before the sessions court seeking immediate ban on screening of the film ''Omkara'' across the country in view of using ''vulgar and abusive language''.

Nasim Khan, in his application to the court, today sought court directive to ban further screening of the film and prosecute Mr Kumar Mangat, producer of the film, and five others--Devgan films, Director Vishal Bharadwaj, Censor Board, the Union Government and the Maharashtra government.

The applicant said he had seen the movie on August 17 and became very nervous and surprised how the said film was allowed to be screened by granting censor certificate. He said all through the film vulgur and unparliamentary languages were used in the name of mother and sister which insults the very set up of a great religion.

He also alleged that some politicians have taken initiative to make the film tax free.

Mr Khan said using of such vulgar languages by the actors in the film was directly influencing the young generations and hence a mandatory order should be issued to direct the concerned authorities to prosecute all persons concerned in the production of the film and the politicians who have been encouraging for its tax free screening.
