Rupee opens strong by three paise a Rs 46.44/45 per USD

Mumbai, Aug 21 (UNI) The rupee today opened strong by three paise at Rs 46.44/45 per US dollar as compared to the previous close of Rs 46.47 per USD, a trader in the money market said.

In the mid-morning trade, the domestic currency was trading at Rs 46.43.44 per USD.

The stock market, too, opened in the green by 22 points but it soon slid and is currently trading down by 46 points at 11,375.09.
