Rituals of Iskcon blast victims today, edu institutes closed

Imphal, Aug 21 (UNI) The last rites, 'Asti Sanchay,' of the five victims of the August 16 blast at ISKCON temple was held today at the Mani Mandir, where thousands of people attended.

From early morning people came to offer their tribute to the victims.

Two boys and a girl had also died in this blast and about 50 people were injured.

The Students' Federation of India (SFI) had called an academic strike today to protest the attack. Sit in protests continued in various parts of the state. All educational institutions were also closed.

Meanwhile, the People's United Liberation Front (PULF) and the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) also denounced the attack during the religious congregation.

Most militant outfits of the state have condemned the attack and police is yet to find the reason behind the blast.

No one has been arrested so far and police has announced an award of Rs one lakh for information on the blast.
