Rain delays start of play in Montreal

MONTREAL, Aug 20 (Reuters) Torrential rain today delayed the start of play at the Montreal Cup.

Russia's Dinara Safina and Ana Ivanovic of Serbia have yet to complete their semi-final which was suspended yesterday due to the bad weather Ivanovic was leading 6-1 3-4.

The winner of the match is due to face Switzerland's Martina Hingis in the final today but with bad weather forecast throughout the day, the tournament could spill over to a second tomorrow.

Play was due to start at 1100 local time (1600 GMT) with the final originally scheduled at 1300 local time.
