Pondy admn considering free power to residence of weavers

Pondicherry, Aug 21 (UNI) The Pondicherry administration will consider supply of free power to the houses of indigent weavers in the Union Territory after setting up the power tariff regulation authority here, Power Minister V Vaithilingam told the legislative assembly today.

He was answering a question from DMK member Nanda T Saravanan.

Replying to another question Education Minister M O H F Shajahan said the government would fill up all the existing tailoring teachers vacancies in the schools by September ten.

To another question, he said as there was a court ruling that Bachelor of Fine Arts persons cannot be appointed in the posts of drawing teachers, the government could not fill up the vacant posts since 1998-99. However, the government was taking steps to fill up the posts, he added.
