Miscreants stone Siddharamaiah's car, escapes unhurt
Hubli, Aug 21 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddharamaiah escaped unhurt when some miscreants threw stones at his car at Athani town in Belgaum district today.
Belgaum Superintendent of Police Hemanth Nimbalkar informed UNI that the incident took place when Mr Siddaramaiah was leaving the town after visiting some flood-affected villages in the area.
The window panes of the car were smashed in the attack, he added.
He said a few miscreants were taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Mr Siddaramaiah was on a state-wide tour to invite workers of the Congress and the All India Progressive Janata Dal (AIPJD) to take part in the September three convention in Bangalore during which the AIPJD would formally merge with the Congress in the presence of its President Sonia Gandhi.
