Miracles galore: Perfumed oil from statue of Holy Mary

Kochi, Aug 21 (UNI) Close on the heels of reported miracles like idols of gods drinking milk and sea water tasting sweet, a holy statue of Mary is reportedly exuding redolent oil much to the amazement of devotees here.

The statue, one-foot in height, at the home of Joy Abraham in Fort Kochi, started to emit an oily substance from Saturday, Father Solemn of the local church told UNI.

The miracle was first noticed by Sini, daughter of Joy, while she was offering prayers to the Holy Mary, Father Solemn added.

''I went there to see the miracle for myself. The holy statue was percolating a perfumed oily substance and if one touches the statue that person would have the aroma of the substance,'' he said.

This particular phenomenon was noticed only in one statue in the vicinity, he added.

Hearing of the miracle, thousands of devotees thronged the place to have a glimpse of the holy statue.
