Minister tenders apology in AP House
Hyderabad, Aug 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy today tendered an apology in the state Assembly after the opposition TDP stalled the proceedings and raised objections over certain remarks made by him.
TDP members rushed to the well of the House and disrupted the proceedings after the Minister made some critical remarks against the previous TDP Government, while intervening in the debate on floods.
As Panel Speaker B Veda Vyas had a tough time in bringing the House back to order, Speaker K R Suresh Reddy resumed the chair.
When the TDP members complained that the Minister had hurt their feelings with his remarks, the Speaker said both ruling and opposition members should observe restraint while participating in discussions.
Expressing regret, Mr Redddy said he had great respect for the Assembly and democracy. ''It was not my intention to hurt anyone's feelings and had I done so, I express my regrets,'' he said in his apology.
