HC recommends stern action against erring private hospitals
New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today directed the Delhi government to initiate stern action against private hospitals which have failed to provide free treatment to at least 25 per cent of patients belonging to the economically weaker section in violation of the lease deeds.
While hearing a PIL filed by NGO Social Jurist, a division bench of Justices Mukundakam Sharma and Hima Kohli said, ''Mere issuance of show cause notices to these hospitals would not serve the purpose.'' The Court said action should be taken to the logical conclusion in accordance with the stipulations prescribed on the lease deed.
