Haryana CPS, PSs not holding independent charge: Hooda
Chandigarh, Aug 21 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has categorically stated that the chief parliamentary secretary(CPS) and the parliamentary secretaries(PSs) in the state were not holding any independent charge and only assisted the ministers concerned for various departments.
As such, there was nothing unconstitutional about these appointments, the Chief Minister stated further in the reply filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court today during resumed hearing on the writ petitions vide which these appointments have been challenged among others by retired revenue official Parma Nand, Panchkula, Indian National Lok Dal(INLD) members of the state assembly Dr Sushil Indora and Dr Sita Ram and BJP activist Pavittar Singh Bajwa.
The bench has already admitted these and some other petitions pertaining to similar appointments in Punjab.
The petitioner want the CPS and PSs to be disqualified for holding posts which were without the sanction of law, as had been done in Himachal Pradesh where the High Court had held such appointments as illegal and unconstitutional.
