Five dead, up to 30 injured in Spanish train derailment
MADRID, Aug 21 (Reuters) Five people were killed and between 20 and 30 injured today when a Spanish inter-city train derailed in the northwest of the country, police said.
Six carriages of the train derailed near the station of Villada in the Palencia region as the train travelled between the Spanish city of Vigo and the town of Hendaye in France, said a spokesman for the Guardia Civil police in Palencia.
Spanish state radio had earlier said the train was travelling from the capital Madrid.
