East Bengal continue to win, beat Port Trust 2-0

Kolkata, Aug 21 (UNI) East Bengal continued their winning spree in the Premier Division of Kolkata Football League when they defeated Calcutta Port Trust 2-0 here today.

Debutant Brazilian defender Luiz Octavio de Souza nicknamed 'Lucas' gave East Bengal the lead in the 9th minute of play when he volleyed home a Dipankar Roy cross.

Dipankar Roy increased the margin in the 55th minute of the second half when he placed the ball in the Port net off a Ashim Biswas pass.

East Bengal maintained their grip over the match all through 90 minutes and keeping the pace of the game in control never allowed the Port players to break from the yolk.

Sasty Duley was adjudged Man of the Match.
