Kochi, Aug 21 (UNI) A local court today ordered further investigation into the sister Abhaya murder case 1992.

Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) P D Sarangadharan found that the final report submitted before the court by the New Delhi Special Crime unit Addl. SP R R Sahai lacked details and could not be considered a final report.

The body of sister Abhaya was found in a well of the Pious X convent in Kottayam on March 27, 1992.

In a report submitted by the CBI on August 30, 2003, it was stated that the case should be treated as untraceable. The father of the deceased Abhaya objected to the report, stating that the CBI had failed to conduct a full fledged inquiry.

The Magistrate found that further investigation conducted by the CBI pursuant to the order dated June 28 2000 was only superficial.
