Bismillah's death a great loss to Indian music

Bangalore, Aug 21 (UNI) Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today expressed profound grief over the death of Shehanai maeastro Ustad Bismillah Khan.

In his condolence message Mr Chaturvedi said, ''I am extremely distressed to hear about the sad demise of Mr Khan. Enchanting melody in improvisation and emotional exuberance were the features of Mr Khan's music which helped him to achieve an instant rapport with his audience.'' In his message, Mr Kumaraswamy said, ''Mr Khan has extolled music and communicated with divinity with his shehanai. He was like an innocent child oblivious of everything, except his music. He reached the greatest heights that any man could ever in the world of music.
