Awards announced from 2002 to 2006 in Kashmir to be given on Aug 24

Srinagar, Aug 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd) S K Sinha will be formally giving away the medals and cash prizes to more than fifty recipients of the State Awards announced in 02-04-05 -06 on thursday, an official spokesman said.

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and his council of Ministers are also expected to attend the investiture ceremony at the Raj Bhawan on August 24, he said.

It is after a gap of four years that the investiture ceremony is being held to give away the State Awards announced during the previous years.

Deputy Commissioners of various Districts have been asked to inform the recipients to reach Srinagar on August 22 and 23 to attend the ceremony at Raj Bhawan on the scheduled date.

The General Administration Department (GAD) is making all arrangements in coordination with the Raj Bhawan Secretariat for the award ceremony.

Commissioner-Secretary GAD Khurshid Ahmed Ganai has designated Under Secretary General Administration Department and Asgar Hussain, as the Nodal Officer to enable the prospective recipients to obtain necessary information about the arrangements being made for the Investiture ceremony.

The year-wise names of the recipients are: 2002: Prof Ram Nath Shashtri, Amin Kamil, Abdul Majid Kakroo, Ranjit Singh Chib, Late Ghulam Mohammad Wani, Late Veerana Aivali, Late Rigzin Kalon, Prof M Y Qadri, Prof R R Sharma Ex-VC Jammu University, Prof M A Charoo, H S Gupta, Prof Aman Rathore, Dr Tara Singh, Dr Tsering Narboo, Ashraf Sahil, Wazir Ali, Bhanvar Puri, 2004: Mushtafa Muazam, Late Fazil Kashmiri, Ved Rahi, Kavi Rattan, Rita Jintedera, Gyaltson, Farooq Ahmed Shah, Eijaz Ahmed Kakroo, Master Karam Chand, Sonia Sharma, Ahmad Ali Fayaz.

2005: Sonaullah Panzoo, Dr Jitendera Udhampuri, Gh Hassan Sofi, Dr K C Sharma, Dr G Q Allaqband, Dushayant Sharma, Sonam Wangyal, Sanjeev Pargal, Lalita Sharma.
