Union ministers, KCR and Narendra to resign on August 22

Hyderabad, Aug 20 (UNI) Two ministers of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) -- Labour Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister of State for Rural Development A Narendra -- would resign from the Union Cabinet on August 22, Mr Narendra said today.

TRS is a ruling UPA constituent.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Narendra said Mr Rao, also the TRS president, and he would submit resignation letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on August 22 at a dinner party hosted by Dr Singh in New Delhi.

Alleging that the UPA has failed to take a decision on separate Telangana issue and cheating the TRS and hurting the sentiments of Telangana people, he said the TRS President would start a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi from August 23.

He said the resignation letters would also be handed over to UPA Chairperson Ms Sonia Gandhi and other UPA coalition partners. The Telangana issue would also be raised in Parliament, he said.

Mr Narendra said that the TRS MLAs would also stall the proceedings in Andhra Pradesh Assembly from August 22 over the issue. The TRS leaders would organise dharnas and rasta roko in Telangana pressing for their demand.
