Tripura Govt. to provide jobs to the blinds
Agartala, Aug 20 (UNI) Tripura Government has decided to employ 100 blind unemployed youths in various departments and the for creation of special posts for them.
State Social Welfare Minister Manik Dey told newsmen that the state government would provide government jobs to 100 blind unemployed persons in various departments for which interview would be held shortly.
Special posts were already being created and the finance department had given its approval.
According to employment exchange survey, 284 blind persons in the handicrafts sector were registered as unemployed. Of them 145 persons were Madhayamik pass and 139 could not pass the Madhyamik examination.
The state government was giving Rs 500 as stipend to all the 56 blind unemployed, who had applied for this out of the total number of 284, Mr Dey added.
