TN CM urged to give prominence to RJD

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu Aug 20 (UNI) The Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD) today urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to accord prominence to the party in the coming Panchayat elections in the state.

Talking to newspersons after the RJD State Secretariat Committee meeting here the Tamil Nadu unit president A P Kesavan said the Centre and the State government must take steps to ensure peace in Lanka, he added.

He said Mr Karunanidhi had done a remarkable job in the first three months of the government's tenure. He must be lauded for announcing the reverred leader and the former Chief Minister K Kamaraj's birthday as "Education Day," he added.
