Gurdaspur, Aug 20 (UNI) Punjab Police have arrested three militants from a police barrier at Madhopur in this district near Jammu and Kashmir border and recovered arms and ammunition along with fake currency.

Senior Superintendent of Police Paramjit Singh Umranangal said here today that the militants were identified as Jahagir, Jahir and Israr Ahmed, all residents of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.

The SSP said police recovered two AK 47 rifles, a revolver and a pistol, four-and-a half kg of explosives, four magazines of AK 47 rifle, 106 cartridges, five detonators and Rs 1.05 lakh in fake currency from their possession.

Mr Umranangal said apart from this police also recovered two trucks, a car and a motorcycle from them.

It is suspected that all the militants were affiliated to Hizbul Mujahidin.
