Roopam Gogoi,Palash qualify for main draw with 8 TN players

Chennai, Aug 29 (UNI)Tamil Nadu players dominated with as many as eight of them qualified for the main draw of the Adidas-MCC junior national tennis championships to be held here from tomorrow.

In the finals of the qualifying rounds today, Yuvaraj Kumar, C Ravi Shankar, Monish Rajer, M Senthil Kumar, Niranjan Ram in the Boys under-14 singles and V Vignesh, Siddarth Balaji and Murtaza M Lohani in the unde -18 singles, made it to the main draw. Assam's Roopam Gogoi defeated Avinash Ramanathan of Tamil Nadu 6-1, 6-4 in the under-14 section while Delhi's Palash Tiwari ended the run of Andhra Pradesh's P Chetan 6-1, 6-2 as the only outstation players to make it to the main draw.
