Release of water from Kota barrage, 10 villages surrounded
Bhind, MP, Aug 20 (UNI) The release of water from Rajasthan's Kota barrage in the Chambal river has brought flood in Ater tahsil's 10 villages in this district with the water level being as high as 10 feet.
The district administration has evacuated people from Mukutpura, Dewala, Nawali, Vrindvan, Kuchhpura, Dinpura, Nasroli, Surajpura, Jigola, Rama and Kosad villages and lodged in relief camps where medical and other facilities were being provided.
Collector Rashmi Arun Shami told UNI here that a control room has been set up in Ater area and officials were exercising alertness.
A committee has been set up for monitoring flood relief in the affected area. The committee includes a police personnel, who has been provided with wireless set to continuously update the control room regarding flood situation.
The Collector said the administration was prepared to deal with any situation.
