Reddy to release VCD to prove bribery charge against CM

Bellary, Aug 20 (UNI) BJP legislator G Janardhana Reddy, MLC, suspended by the party for making serious bribery allegation against Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, today announced that he would be releasing a VCD here on August 22 to prove the charge.

Addressing a press conference here, he said his fight against corruption would continue until illegal mining was totally abolished in the district.

Mr Reddy had alleged that Mr Kumaraswamy and Forests Minister C Chennigappa had received a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining lobby in the district Coming to the defence of Mr Reddy, BJP leader Basavaraj Patil Yatnal, MP, who was also present at the press meet, said like-minded leaders in the party supported his fight against corruption.

However, it did not mean that they were trying to destabilise the seven-month-old Kumaraswamy government. ''People like Mr Reddy and me are second line leaders in the party and our concern is to strengthen it,'' he added.

Stating that the party was not ignoring Mr Reddy, he said he would try to get his suspension revoked by talking to the BJP top brass.

He said ''the defamation suit filed by Mr Reddy against Mr Kumaraswamy, Mr Chennigappa and Home Minister M P Prakash seems to be genuine.'' If Mr Reddy proved his charge against Mr Kumaraswamy with proper evidences, the BJP would certainly stand behind him as it had always fought against corruption.

Mr Yatnal was here to take part in the fifth state level Karnataka Rakshana Vedike programme.
