Rajiv Gandhi remembered on his 62nd birth anniversary

Ranchi, Aug 20 (UNI) Tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 62nd birth anniversary, here today.

To mark the occcasion Jharkhand unit of Congress organised a seminar on 'Rajiv Gandhi and modern India' at Behar Club in the state capital.

Inaugurating the seminar, noted journalist Balbir Dutt said Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of modern India and was a leader who dedicated his life for the uplift of the downtrodden.

He said due to efforts of Rajiv Gandhi on widespread use of modern technology, especially computers, India was now among the technology-rich countries.

The seminar was also addressed edocationist Ramdayal Munda.

Earlier, Congress party workers and legislatures paid floral tributes to Rajiv Gandhi at the party office here.
