Prisoner escapes from police lock-up
Patna, Aug 20 (UNI) A prisoner dodged the police today and escaped from lock up in Shashtrinagar police station.
Police said here that Raju Paswan was in the Shastrinagar Police station lock up in connection with a theft case. The prisoner managed to escape this morning on the plea to answer the nature's call. Raids were on to nab the prisoner.
Meanwhile, a report from Shiekhpura, quoting Superintendent of Police Amit Lodha, said that a hand-cuffed prisoner Ramanauj Singh jumped from a running train, along with a constable, near Manpur railway halt on Quil-Gaya section last night when he was being shifted to Sheikhpura jail after being produced in Munger court.
The constable sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the local subdivisional hospital.
The prisoner was wanted by police since past nine years and was arrested on August 12.
