Man dies in road mishap while fleeing after wife's murder

Lucknow, Aug 20 (UNI) In a freak turn of events, a man was killed in a road accident while fleeing after killing his wife in the Uttar Pradesh capital today.

Police said Jitender Singh, a taxi driver, allegedly stabbed his wife (Kusum) to death in the Alambagh area this morning.

After committing the crime, Jitender fled the scene on his cycle.

But, he was knocked down by a speeding vehicle near his house and died on the spot.

The couple's children -- both minors -- told police that their father stabbed Kusum and fled the scene after cleaing blood from his body.

The family had earlier this month rented an accomodation in the Alambagh area.
