Lebanon will be tough on any truce breach-minister
BEIRUT, Aug 20 (Reuters) Defence Minister Elias al-Murr today said the army would be tough in dealing with any attempt to breach the UN-brokered truce that halted a 34-day war between Israel and Hizbollah.
''The army will be very tough in dealing with such an issue,'' he told a news conference. ''Any rocket fired from Lebanon will benefit Israel,'' he said, suggesting that such incident would provide a pretext for the Jewish state to attack Lebanon.
He said he was confident Hizbollah would stick to the truce.
Murr said the army now controlled all the border with Syria and it would be tough in dealing with any arms shipments. ''There is no flexibility on arms smuggling,'' he said.
