Kolkata experiences drizzles today
Kolkata, Aug 20 (UNI) The sun and clouds played hide and seek as Kolkatans enjoyed a brisk sunshine with intermittent showers throughout the day.
The Met department said the continuous rain was due to the low pressure formed in the coastal parts of Orissa.
The south west monsoon had become very active and is expected to lash heavy rainfall in the Northern part of West Bengal, the weathermen added.
North Bengal districts like Coochbehar had been experiencing a drought like situation this monsoon, whereas, the gangetic Bengal had received fair amount of rains, the Met officials informed.
They also have warned that the state is going to recieve more thundershowers in the next 24 hours due to cyclonic situation spotted in the upper sky of Jharkhand.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 30.9 degree Celsius, while the minimum was 26.5 degree Celsius, which was one degree more than the last day.
The humidity level was 97 per cent today.
