Heavy rains forecast in Orissa, Gujarat, Gangetic West Bengal

Pune, Aug 20 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa and at many places in Gujarat.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarancha, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, south Rajasthan, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, and at a few places in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated places in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, and interior Karnataka.

The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Gujarat and active over Orissa. It has been subdued over west Uttar Pradesh, east madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Telangana.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occured at most places in Gujarat region. Heavy rains have occured at most places in Orissa, Himachal Pradesh and at a few places in west Rajasthan.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, east Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Saurashtra, Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and at isolated places in Bihar, west Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Telangana.
