Govt to set up more Renewable Energy Parks in Haryana
Bhiwani, Aug 20 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that Renewable Energy Parks named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi were being set up in nine towns of the state and one such park had already been set up in Gurgaon.
The Chief Minister was addressing a function organised to mark the 62nd birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister.
Mr Hooda said that panchayats were being motivated to promote the use of renewable energy and awards had been instituted at state, district and block level to encourage them.
While paying rich tributes to Rajiv Gandhi, the Chief Minister said that Mr Gandhi had made efforts to ensure that a strong and prosperous country entered the 21st century.
He said that Mr Gandhi took steps to make India prosperous through technology mission and got anti-defection law enacted to promote value based politics.
He also got the age for casting vote lowered to 18 years to ensure contribution of youth in the development of the country.
Also, he initiated the process of decentralisation of power to empower Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
