CM unveils action plan to promote dalit entrepreneurs

Hyderabad, Aug 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today launched ''Scheduled Castes (SC) Action Plan 2006-07'' to promote dalits as Small and Medium Entrepreneurs.

Launching the action plan at a function organised by NISIET here, Dr Reddy said the government had allocated Rs 276 crore to promote entrepreneurs among the SC community in the state.

The government was committed to developing the dalits economically by encouraging them in establishing productive industries.

Stating that the government would take steps to provide loans to the dalits without any collateral security after consulting the State Finance Corporation, he said the beneficiaries should also pay the loans promptly to the banks to get more loans for developing their business.
