CM accepts non-fulfillment of journalists demands

Agartala, Aug 20 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has said that the demands of the journalists has not been fulfilled due to various financial limitations of the state government.

The Chief Minister has handed over a Rs 5 lakhs cheque today for rennovation of Agartala Press Club and another cheque of Rs one lakh for strengthening the journalists' welfare fund.

Speaking on the ocassion the Chief Minister stressed the need for a state-of-the-art library .

''It will benefit the journalists to a great extent,'' he said.

He further appealed to all the editors of the state to contribute in the welfare fund for overall development of the mediapersons.
