Chopra slides to tied 40th in the PGA Championship
Medinah, Illinois, Aug 20 (UNI) A horrendous back nine marred his show as Daniel Chopra stumbled to the tied 40th spot after carding a disappointing four-over 76 in the third round of the 65,00,000 dollar PGA Championship here.
The India-born Swede started off well with a birdies on the first and second but a double-bogey on the fourth pulled him back. He, however, banged in a birdie on the fifth to make the turn at one-under.
However, form deserted him as soon as he started his backward journey and Chopra hit a double-bogey on the 10th. The Swede failed to recover from the poor start and dropped three more shots on the 13th, 17th and 18th in his birdie-less back nine at the tough Medinah Country Club.
Chopra has a three-day total of one-under 215.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods played out a sensational seven-under 65 round to shoot up to the tied top spot with three-day total of 14-under 202. Woods shares the lead with Brit Luke Donald, who carded a six-under 66 score in the third round.
Phil Mickelsen (68) also recovered from the disappointing second-round performance to enter the top-10 at the tied eighth spot with a three-day total of eight-under 208.
