Varanasi, Aug 20 (UNI) Owing to continued improvment in his health, shehnai wizard Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan is likely to be discharged from the Heritage Hospital here in three to four days.
Hospital Media Incharge Ajai Rai said here today that a CT scan of stomach and brain conducted today has delivered normal results, suggesting that Khan Sahib's overall health had improved remarkably.
Mr Rai further said that the electrolyte imbalance in Khan Sahib's body has also been corrected, while all vital organs and parameters, including the liver and heart were now normal.
''Khan Sahib today made a desire for mutton soup and 'halwa' and most of the medicines were also being administered to him orally, unlike through the IV line in the past,'' he said quoting Chief Medical Superintendent of the Hospital Brigadier P S R Aiyar.
Whatever weakness in his body remains is purely due to old age All other tests to gauge 92-year-old Khan Sahib's health have proved normal and if the overall improvement continued over the next three to four days, he may be discharged from the hospital.
