Astabandhana Maha Samprokshanam' begins at Tirumala
Tirumala, Aug 20 (UNI) The six-day 'Astabandhana Maha Samprokshanam' ritual began with the performance of 'Ankurarpanam' in Sri Venkateswara Temple here today.
A TTD release said its management was working in right earnest for the success of the special rituals-- performed once in 12 years, which would conclude with 'Mahasamprokshanam' on August 25.
During the period, required repairs are usually undertaken in the 'Sanctum Santroum' including 'Snapanamandapam', 'Ramalvaru Meda' and small temples within main temple complex.
The sacred rituals would be carried out under the aegis of TTD Vaikhanasa Agama advisor Sri Sundaravadana Acharyulu.
In view of the event, TTD had cancelled all the 'Arjitha Sevas (paid sevas) like Kalyanotsavam, Brahmotsavam, Unjal Sevas, Vasantosavam, Sahasradeepalakar Sevas and, issuance of cellar entry tickets and VIP break dharshan.
