YSR consoles victim's families

Nalgonda, Aug 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today consoled the family members of three policemen shot dead by CPI (Maoist) naxals at Atmakur police station last night.

Dr Reddy visited the government hospital where the bodies were kept and paid floral tributes to the victims. He consoled the families and promised the government would provide all possible assistance.

Condemning the brutal attack on the unarmed policemen, Dr Reddy said the government would provide government job to one of the family members. An ex-gratia of Rs nine lakh would be paid to the families of Sub-Inspector Chand Pasha and Assistant Sub-Inspector Moinuddin, while Rs five lakh would be paid to the next of kin of constable Lingaiah.

District Police Officers Association President Anjal Rao demanded arrest of VIRASAM (Revolutionary Writers Association) leaders.

Police would avenge the deaths, he said.
