Six local sportspersons selected for Asian games camps

Port Blair, Aug 19 (UNI) Two cyclists and four rowers from Andaman and Nicobar islands have been named in the probables list for the Asian Games to be held in Doha in December.

Lists released by Cycling and Rowing Federations of India named six sportspersons, who have been called to report training centers soon, according to Sports Authority of India Deputy Director Joy Kumar Roy.

Mr Roy told UNI today that B Neeta and Drusila have been selected in Cycling and were asked to report to the National Coaching Camp in Mumbai. Besides them four rowers- B Usha, Radha Kumari, Akashi Paul and Dipti Das- have been selected for Rowing camp to be held at Jagatpur, Orissa.

All of them are gold medal winners in the National championships in their respective disciplines, Mr Roy added.
