Sea water turns ''sweet'' in Gujarat too
Valsad, Gujarat, Aug 19 (UNI) With water supposedly turning sweet at Marine Creek in Mumbai, its ripple effect was also felt at Gujarat's Tithal beach in Valsad district today.
People thronged the coast to taste the water. The district administration has taken four different samples of the sea water and sent it to Surat for testing.
Sources said the drop in salinity level may be the result of nearby Vihar lake overflowing and also because of water coming in from the Mithi river.
''People's frenzy would subside once the high tide commences shortly, as this would restore the salinity,'' sources added.
